Wotus, 52, has been the Giants’ bench coach since 1999.
Seattle is said to have a long list of candidates, with Wotus joining A’s bench coach Chip Hale, Padres bench coach Rick Renteria and Tigers hitting coach Lloyd McClendon among those known to have been interviewed so far.
Wotus was first reported to be a candidate for the Mariners job a few weeks ago by CBSSports.com. The job was vacated when Eric Wedge informed the Mariners he would not be returning to manage them after three seasons.
