St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jaime Garcia began a rehab assignment Sunday with Double-A Springfield.
Garcia, however, ran into some bad luck, as he was hit by a pitch on his left (yes, throwing) elbow. Though X-rays came back negative, he now has a bruised elbow on his pitching arm.
“It’s really, really frustrating,” Garcia told the Springfield News-Leader. “I get out of one thing and something else happens. I’m seeing this as just a little bump and be back right where I was.”
Garcia told reporters that he might miss his next rehab start.
