Insiders: 2012 MLB Regular Season Memories

Sports Talk Florida asked the Insiders:

What was your favorite moment from the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season?

Craig Smith @CraigInTampa – Bucs Insider

When Fernando Rodney closed out the game last night after Evan Longoria hit 3 HRs. I say this, not because the season is finally over, but because there were so many special moments at that point. The departure of Upton. The happiness and camaraderie the players showed immediately after the game. And the promise the Rays have next year with Longoria in the lineup and dynamite pitching. A great ending to a challenging and disappointing year.

The Rays comeback against the Angels. Down seven runs early, the Rays stormed back to tie the game and then take the lead on a pinch-hit home run by Carlos Pena. That was the most memorable moment of the season for me.

Eric Lopez @EricLopezELO – UCF Insider

Being at Marlins-Rays game at Trop that went 15 innings i believe back in summer. Also saw David Price throw shutout vs Angels in April. Overall favorite moment was Mike Trout’s defensive catch at center field vs Orioles and the splash he made.

David Botello @DavidBotelloFSU – FSU Insider

This morning, when I realized the regular season was finally over. Baseball is turrible (Charles Barkley voice).

Vince Maduri @VinceMaduri – Executive Editor (Emperor of the Genesis Digital universe)

Yankees beating the Red Sox 14-2, finishing the sweep to send Valentine out of town on a high note, simultaneously clinching both the AL East and the top seed in the AL last night. lol

The free Rays helmet I got with my nachos!
