D-backs Place Mark Trumbo (Foot) On DL

After completing a 7-5 comeback win over the Chicago Cubs to snap a four-game losing streak, manager Kirk Gibson told reporters an MRI on left fielder Mark Trumbo’s left foot revealed a stress fracture, an injury that will land him on the 15-day disabled list.

Trumbo, the Diamondbacks’ biggest off-season addition, is hitting just .210 but his seven homers are tied with San Francisco’s Brandon Belt for the most in the National League and his 19 RBI are second behind Miami’s Giancarlo Stanton.

Trumbo said he will have a better sense for how long he’ll be out upon visiting with Diamondbacks team physician Dr. Michael Lee in Phoenix this week.
