This was a good weekend for the Cincinnati Reds, winning the series against the division-leading Milwaukee Brewers, but some bad news came out late last night. According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN, their all-star outfielder, Jay Bruce, will be out for the next 3-4 weeks:
Jay Bruce will have surgery this week to repair partially torn meniscus in left knee. Expected to miss 3-4 weeks. #reds

Chris Heisey should see most of Bruce’s playing time in right field for the next month or so, but this is a huge blow to the Reds. Over the last three seasons, Bruce has averaged 32 HR’s and 102 RBI’s.
