Today is the day for barbecuing in the backyard with friends and family, sporting red, white and blue, and watching baseball. All of these things could be defined as being patriotic, but there is one element of Independence Day that was not mentioned–fireworks.
What’s more American than going to your favorite team’s stadium to catch a good ole game of baseball? Nothing. This is why we are ranking America’s baseball stadiums based on who has the most amazing firework show.
Where else would you find a more extravagant fireworks than in our Nation’s Capital? The Nationals players will be wearing the colors and fans will get an American flag to help salute military men during the game. But, it’s the firework show after the game that you’ll want to stay for.
The Detroit, MI stadium knows how to do a firework show so well that they put it on two nights in a row! After they face the Tampa Bay Rays Friday night, there will be a special fireworks show that you will not want to miss. Plus they face the Rays so…enough said.
U.S. Cellular Field
The home of the Chicago White Sox will be hosting the Seattle Mariners and a huge firework display will conclude the night. They will have a pre-game ceremony for servicemen and women and, according to Yahoo, the first pitch will be thrown by a Lieutenant who received a Bronze Star in Afghanistan.
Pittsburgh will have a special day dedicated to Gehrig, as they celebrated “ALS Day.” The players will wear special caps and there will most definitely be a spectacular light show.
