The Cubs have agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent pitcher Scott Feldman, the team announced. The deal is rumored to be worth $6 million, according to Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune. Feldman will be able to make an additional $1 million through incentives.
The 29-year-old pitcher is a popular bounce back candidate next year. He had a 5.09 ERA in 123 2/3 innings last season, but his 3.81 FIP gives promise that he’ll rebound. The signing gives more insight into the Cubs approach to the free-agent market this winter.
