According to Nielson ratings, the Astros-Indians game drew a rating of 0.0 in the greater Houston area on Sunday. That means that out of the 2.28 million TV households in the Houston area, an estimated zero were tuned into the Astros game. Read the Houston Chronicle.
Given that the Houston Texans were playing at the same time as the 51-105 Astros, it was a pretty great shot that very, very few people in the Houston area were watching the Astros’ 9th straight loss. While it probably wasn’t exactly zero, that’s the rating the Houston area drew.
In fairness, we need to point out that Astros games are carried locally on CSN Houston, which is only available in about 40 percent of area households, as it’s not carried on DirecTV, Dish Network, AT&T Uverse, Time Warner or Suddenlink Communications.
Still, 0.0 is laughable.
