UPDATE: Michael Vick Expected to Miss Week 6 Game vs. the Bucs

Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick vs the Giants

UPDATE: Michael Vick’s hamstring injury will likely keep him out for Week 6, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter, meaning Nick Foles is expected to start.

The Bucs may or may not get to see Michael Vick when the Philadelphia Eagles come to town this week.

The Eagles starting quarterback suffered a hamstring injury in his left leg Sunday against the New York Giants and will undergo an MRI today.

Late in the first half, Vick scrambled to his left, running out of bounds untouched after a 13-yard gain. He reached for his hamstring and limped back to the huddle. He finished the drive, but was then replaced by backup Nick Foles, who led the Eagles to a 36-21 victory.

“He didn’t look like he was moving well. I’m not going to put anybody in harm’s way. It felt like he didn’t have that step where he can get out of the way,” said head coach Chip Kelly, who said it was his decision to keep Vick out.

“We didn’t really have any talks about [him coming back]. I just talked to our trainers and those guys and they said it was just a hamstring. They thought he was going to be okay.”

Prior to leaving the game, Vick was 6-for-14 for 105 yards and 79 rushing yards. In relief, Foles completed 16 of 25 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.

Kelly said the Eagles did not have to adjust their up-tempo offense for Foles, who beat the Bucs last year in a g 23-21 heartbreaker that included a 64-yard game-winning drive in the final seconds.

Regardless of who the Bucs see this week, they’re in for a handful. The Eagles feature the second-ranked offense in the league, averaging 454.8 yards per game and have the top-ranked rushing attack.
