Miami-Cincinnati Preview

Miami (1-3) at Cincinnati (3-1) - Sun, Oct 7 1:00 PM EDT

Miami is two overtime games away from a 3-1 record. With the leagues best run defense and the fifth best running game the Dolphins will hang-around in this game. Miami will be able to run all over Cincinnatis 24th ranked run defense, allowing 133.5-yards a game.

On offense, Miamis quarterback Ryan Tannehill needs to take care of the ball.Cincinnati leads the league in sacks and will pressure Tannehill. The Dolphins have lost every game that he has thrown an interception. If Tannehill can manage Sundays game the Dolphins offense can control the field and the Cincinnati defense. Running back Reggie Bush who has a bruised knee had 17 carries for 67-yards against the Cardinals last week. Sunday afternoon Bush should be able to break-off a few long runs against Cincinnati.

On defense, Miami needs to focus on Cincinnatis quarterback Andy Dalton and his favorite target, wide receiver A.J. Green. Green is averaging 107-yards a game with three touchdowns for the season. Dalton has improved in his second year but he has the tendency to turn the ball over. He has thrown an interception in every game this season and has one fumble. Look for defensive end Cameron Wake to disrupt Cincinnatis offense and force a turn over. Wake has 4.5 sacks on the season.

On special teams, Miamis kicker Dan Carpenter needs to kick the ball through the up-rights. Dolphins fans demand it. Carpenter has missed a field goal in each over-time loss. Points are at a premium in the NFL, first year head coach Joe Philbin will have to make a change at kicker if the Carpenters struggles continue.

The Bengals don't have a loud stadium and there is nothing to do in Cincinnati. If the Dolphins dont spend Saturday night in Kentucky, the team should come out of the tunnel Sunday focused and on a mission, a running mission. The football gods will look their way on Sunday and an overtime win will come their way, 24-21 Dolphins in OT.
