Mettenberger Impresses at Pro Day
Yesterday was Pro Day for LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger and despite having knee surgery only a few months ago, he impressed scouts. But he wants everyone to know that he is fully healed and NFL scouts don’t need to worry about his ACL being a problem.
According to Pro Football Talk, if he’s drafted, he does not want to be put on the on the physically unable to perform list. Mettenberger told the New Orleans Times-Picayune that he is doing what he can to be ready.
“I’m three months out of surgery and not in playing shape. My legs are kind of tired so that’s something to expect. I’m doing everything I can to work through that and be ready for rookie camp. I’m not going to start the season on the PUP list. I think I showed I’m healthy enough to go through practice and compete for a job. By the time the season rolls around in September I’ll be fully healed.”
Mettenberger does have some time before camp to get to 100% and try to compete for someone’s starting job. Right now, the odds are in his favor.
