McCluster Named AFC Special Teams Player Of The Week

Dexter McCluster now has a bookend, to the award he won his first week as a pro.

The Chiefs return man was named AFC special teams player of the week, his first such honor since Week One of his rookie season.

McCluster’s 89-yard punt return touchdown was the longest in the league this year, and the fourth-longest in Chiefs franchise history (behind the 94-yarder his rookie year which won him the first award).

McCluster has always teased with potential, but there’s a reason he was drafted in the second round, and intrigues coaches with his ability.
