Matsuzaka To Make Mets Debut Friday
The New York Mets signed right-hander Daisuke Matsuzaka yesterday and they aren’t wasting any time putting him to work, as the team has announced that he’ll make his first start tomorrow night against the Detroit Tigers at Citi Field.
Matsuzaka, who turns 33 next month, was granted his release by the Indians earlier this week after he posted a 3.92 ERA and 95/39 K/BB ratio over 103 1/3 innings in 19 starts with Triple-A Columbus. Tomorrow will be his first start in the majors since last October 2.
