In a conference containing some of the best offensive players of the past generation- including Peyton Manning, Jamaal Charles, and Tom Brady- Marvin Jones, a second-year receiver, has claimed the honors for AFC offensive player of the week for Week Eight of the 2013 season.
Jones is definitely deserving of the honor after catching a franchise-record four touchdown passes in Sunday’s 49-9 romp over the Jets.
It was the first time any player had caught four touchdown passes in a game since Randy Moss and Terrell Owens did it on the same day in 2007.
That’s pretty good company for a fifth-round raft pick.
