Missed part of the show? Here’s a rewind of the program on November 6, 2013.

The Mariotti Show streams live M-F noon to 3 ET.

Hour One on The Jay Mariotti Show: November 6, 2013:
Jay discusses the sudden wave of peer support for Richie Incognito and is disgusted by the breakdown of logic. Even African-American teammates such as Mike Wallace and Mike Pouncey are backing Incognito, despite his racially-heavy voice mail message left for Jonathan Martin. Jay reminds the audience of the struggles of Jackie Robinson and Martin Luther King and can’t believe these teammates and other NFL players, such as Martin-basher Antrel Rolle, are so shallow. There is no defense in the world for Incognito, Jay says, and he reiterates that the Dolphins’ coaching staff and front office are to blame. Incognito said a few words to a Miami TV station and says he’s “weathering the storm;” the storm will be with him the rest of his life, and his NFL career is over. Jay wonders why Roger Goodell still hasn’t made a statement, in that bullying is a major social issue in America and his sport is watched by children and teenagers. Makes you wonder why we continue to watch this sport in record numbers with so many thugs around. And why does ESPN’s Cris Carter act like a spokesman for Pouncey in relaying Pouncey’s side of the story? Carter is a NFL analyst, not an apologist.

Hour Two on The Jay Mariotti Show: November 6, 2013:
Jay mercifully reminds people that three major games are coming this week that provide definition to the college football season. Alabama, in his mind, actually has the greatest chance of losing, though he expects the Crimson Tide will win a close one at home over LSU. Jay says Nick Saban still could leave for Texas after the season, based on an Associated Press story that details how Saban’s agent contacted Texas officials — not the other way around — about Saban’s interest in the job, even though it wasn’t open. Had Mack Brown agreed to step aside, instead of adamantly resisting, Saban would be in Austin right now. Saban is known for his expiration dates in jobs, and his recent criticism of Alabama students for leaving games early was telling, despite his claims that he’s too old to leave Alabama. He wasn’t too old in January when his agent was calling Texas, was he? Jay says the two games tomorrow feature classic polar-opposites — high-flying Oregon and Baylor vs. traditional Stanford and Oregon. He would like to paint a way for Stanford to win but can’t, though the game is in Palo Alto and Mark Helfrich is in his first gigantic game as Oregon’s head coach.

Hour Three on The Jay Mariotti Show: November 6, 2013:
Jay would like to go incognito and not talk about Incognito, but he must. It is his civic obligation to rid the world of bullying and the football world of “locker-room culture.” The Red Sox proved this year that you can be little boys and still keep it productive and unified, yanking beards all the way to a championship. Jay can’t believe the Dolphins’ coaches would ask a problematic player like Incognito to “toughen up” Martin. More than a racial story, this also involves classism — two polar opposites — Martin from a well-off L.A. family that sent him to prep school, which led him to Stanford, where he majored in classics; Incognito from New Jersey, thrown off teams at Nebraska and Oregon, a bullying and dirty rep as an NFL veteran. Jay ends the show with two “lighter” stories: Ryan Lochte tearing an MCL after a female fan threw herself at him, and Houston voters rightfully not approving money to preserve the Astrodome, which, like all domes, should be wreckingballed.
