Magic’s Top 3 Moments of 2012-13 Season
#1 Nikola Vucevic breaks the franchise record with 29 rebounds against the Miami Heat New Year’s Eve.
Vucevic broke the franchise record of 28 rebounds, which was set by Shaquille O’Neal in 1993. Vucevic racked up 46 double-doubles and went on to average a double-double for the rest of the season.
#2 The Magic travel to L.A. and beat Dwight Howard and the Lakers 113-103.
The Magic successfully implemented the Hack-a-Howard strategy and beat the Lakers in the Staples Center on Dec. 2.
This was the first time the Magic and Dwight Howard crossed paths since his messy departure. Arron Afflalo scored a season-high of 30 points while Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis contributed 23 points and 12 rebounds.
#3 Overtime win against the Milwaukee Bucks.
With less than two-seconds left in game Tobias Harris made a 26 foot jump shot which tied the game 95-95. Harris was fouled on the play but he went on to miss the free throw and forced the game into overtime. Orlando took advantage of their opportunity and outscored the Bucks 18-8 in overtime.
This match served as the first time the two teams met since trading JJ Redick, Gustavo Ayon and Ish Smith for the Bucks’ Harris, Beno Udrih and Doron Lamb.
