Magic Sign Two Players On 10-day Contracts
The Orlando Magic have signed two players to 10-day contracts after parting ways with Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis.
The Magic’s new roster additions include forward Adonis Thomas and center Dewayne Dedmon. Both are young players that will fit in with the Magic’s young bunch. Thomas sits at 6-foot-6 and is 20-years-old while Dedmon sits even at 7-foot and is 24-years-old.
Before signing with the Magic, Thomas was averaging 16.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game over a 26 game span with Springfield Armor (D-League).
This is Dedmon’s fourth 10-day contract of the season. He previously played for the Golden State Warriors on one 10-day contact but did not get much playing time. Dedmon also appeared on the Philadelphia 76ers roster for 11 games on two 10-day contracts. In his time in Philly, Dedmon averaged 3.4 points and 4.5 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per game.
Dedmon will add depth and size to the Magic roster. Currently, the only other 7 footer is Nikola Vucevic. Both Dedmon and Vucevic attended USC but never played together. Vucevic played for USC for three seasons but entered the NBA draft after the 2010-11. Dedmon became a Trojan during the 2011-12 season.
Dedmon and Thomas will be available to play when the Wizards host the Magic on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. ET. Dedmon will be wearing No. 3 while Thomas will wear No. 8.Magic Sign Two Players On 10-day Contracts by Mary Stevens
