LSU Gives Auburn Measuring Stick For Improvement
AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — The Auburn Tigers have already won a Southeastern Conference game, unlike last season.
The Tigers have also shown strides in quarterback play, resilience on defense and in closing out games.
Now, Auburn is preparing for its first road game against No. 6 LSU, which will likely either supply another example of Auburn’s strides or demonstrate how far the team still has to go.
The Tigers’ comeback win over Mississippi State snapped a 10-game SEC skid. Linebacker Jake Holland says that win means “it’s already better than last year, and we’re only moving up and getting better every week.”
Other positive signs: Key defensive stops and a 20-0 edge over opponents in the fourth quarter. Nick Marshall’s 339 passing yards were the most by an Auburn quarterback in his SEC debut.
