Lovie Smith Sets No Goals, Plans to Let Camp Competition Play Out
Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Lovie Smith knows that there is a lot of work ahead of him during training camp but he wants to make something very clear-- he is not laying out specific goals to accomplish. He wants to work as hard as possible and that's it.
When asked about what changes he plans to make for training camp since coming off of a year free from coaching, he said he doesn't expect anything too drastic.
"We're not going to scrimmage everyday. First, you have to establish what you have training camp for, what you're trying to get accomplished, goals. That for us, is number one, to get the best 53 guys (really 61 with practice squad guys) and just let the competition kind of play out."
