Teddy Purcell Notches Pair Of Goals To Lead Bolts To Victory

The Tampa Bay Lightning gave up leads of 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2 before holding on to win their fifth contest in a row defeating the Ottawa Senators by a final score of 5-4. The victory along with the Montreal Canadiens' 3-2 loss in Columbus moves the Lightning into second place in the Atlantic Division.

The game entered the third period tied at three goals apiece until the Bolts took a lead on a goal by Erik Brewer 3:48 into the period. It was Brewers first goal in 95 games a string that dates back to February 24, 2013.

The Bolts received some breathing room in what turned out to be the eventual game winner when newcomer Ryan Callahan scored at the 11:58 minute mark.

Valtteri Filppula scored his 23rd goal on the season matching a career high for goals. Ben Bishop made 31 saves on the night in picking up his 34th win on the season.
