Light Night Of Play In MLB

UNDATED (AP) — There are only four games being played in big-league baseball this evening. In Los Angeles, one of the great rivalries in baseball continues as the Dodgers open up a three game series with San Francisco. The Giants are currently 3 games back of NL West leader Arizona while the disappointing Dodgers are 8 ½ games out of first place.

The hottest team in baseball is back on the field tonight as Toronto is playing the Rays in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Jays have won their last 11 straight games to move within five games of first-place Boston in the AL East. The Rays are also 5 back of the Boston Red Sox in that tight Eastern Division race. Baltimore is in second place in the division, 2 games back of Boston, despite having lost 3 straight. They’ll try to rectify that with a home game tonight against the Indians.

The final game of the night has Philadelphia playing the Padres in San Diego. Cliff Lee of the Phillies is looking for his 10th win against just 2 defeats.
