Adam Schefter of ESPN suggests that there’s a chance (albeit slim) that Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald could be traded by Tuesday. Per Schefter, it’s more likely that Fitzgerald would be traded after the season.
Schefter suggests that a restructuring of the contract would be needed to facilitate a trade. The easy solution would be to convert the 2014 base salary to a signing bonus, driving the number down in 2014 and pushing cap dollars to future years.
Given that he reportedly nearly became an Eagle in 2008, folks who were calling the shots in Philly five years ago need to be considered, like the Browns (where Joe Banner is the CEO) and the Chiefs (where Andy Reid is the head coach).
