Landon Donovan to Be World Cup TV Analyst
When the United States Men’s national team star Landon Donovan was left off the World cup roster, it seemed that he would have no role in Brazil. Well, now ESPN has asked Donovan to be an analyst for their World Cup coverage.
Bill Hofheimer of ESPN reports that Donovan will appear across ESPN networks and shows, starting with Wednesday’s tournament preview show. He’s going to work from the Los Angeles studios for all assignments, including United States matches.
ESPN senior vice president and executive producer Jed Drake thinks that the addition of Donovan will be great for their audience. Drake says that Donovan knows soccer and the World Cup better than anyone else so it was a move that made sense.
