Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper spoke to the media Thursday night after his team dominated the Anaheim Ducks 5-1.
The injury to Steven Stamkos came up several times during the press conference and Cooper replied with, “No one is filling 91’s shoes.”
He completed his thought by saying no one player can take his place but 20-players can share the load and replace Stamkos.
Cooper complemented the team performance over the last two games.
“If one team has the puck and the other team doesn’t, it’s hard for the other team to score. We had the puck for a little bit tonight. Bishop stood strong, when we needed him he was there,” Cooper said.
