Joe Maddon Talks Archer’s Return, A-Rod Appeal, and PEDs

Joe Maddon [1] was on MLB Network Radio on Friday afternoon and discussed Chris Archer [2]‘s return, PED use, and whether or not Alex Rodriguez [3] should be allowed to continue to play while appealing his suspension.

First the good news, he feels that Chris Archer should be ready to make his start on Tuesday:

He says that from his selfish perspective “I want a level playing field for us moving forward, I think it gives us our best chance to be not only competitive but to win at a high level over the next several years when we don’t have to compete with other teams paying for guys that are on enhancement drugs…”

When asked whether or not Alex Rodriguez should be allowed to play while waiting for his appeal he said that he should be able to do whatever the rules say….but…..”on the surface he should not be permitted to play while an appeal is in the process….”
