Jimbo Fisher Can’t Let Bama Go
Last week, Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher said that he had hoped to play Alabama for the National Championship title, not Auburn. Well, he still isn’t letting it go.
It seems that Fisher wants to clarify his previous statements about the Crimson Tide. According to College Football Talk, Fisher just wanted to point out that he would have preferred to beat a team who won the previous year.
He obviously respects Alabama and by saying he wants to play them, is a compliment. Still, he felt the need to clarify.
“By saying you want to play them, to me, is the ultimate respect because that is the thing you want to do. You want to play the best. That’s what we were able to do. No pun to Alabama or any SEC team or Auburn or anybody else, when you want to be a champion, you have to take those steps. You have to have that attitude to be able to compete.”
Fisher told al.com in a radio interview that competing for a championship defines you as the best, which is why he wanted to face Bama.
In order to be the best, you have to beat the best.
