Jeremy Hellickson Has Elbow Surgery Will Miss First 6-8 Weeks Of Season
According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times Rays pitcher Jeremy Hellickson had loose bodies removed from his elbow by Dr. Koco Eaton and will miss the first 6-8 weeks of the season.
Hellickson is coming off a disappointing 2013 season where he finished 12-10 with a 5.27 ERA.
He was the Game 4 starter in the ALDS but was unable to make it out of the second inning in the Rays season ending loss to the Boston Red Sox.
Like so many pitchers before him Jake Odorizzi will be given the chance at filling the whole in the rotation vacated by Hellickson.
