Monday morning, I joined Eric Lopez of Sports Talk Florida Mornings (1040 AM in Tampa Bay and 1080 AM in Orlando) to discuss the Bucs’ disappointing 27-23 loss to the Seahawks in overtime, a game in which the Bucs blew a 21-0 lead.
Eric and I talked about went wrong for the Bucs that allowed the Seahawks to come back from the largest deficit in team history to win. The biggest takeaway I had from watching — how timid the team’s game plan was in the second half compared to some of the gutsy offensive play-calling in the first.
We discussed the team’s decision to try and lure the Seahawks offsides on fourth-and-3, and then punt. Going for a hard count was a decision I didn’t agree with, especially in that stadium, the loudest in the NFL.
We also discussed head coach Greg Schiano’s status with the team and if fans have softened their stance on him at all considering the Bucs nearly beat one of the best teams in the league.
