The Tampa Bay Buccaneers play the Miami Dolphins tonight at Raymond James Stadium, and I joined Eric Lopez on Sports Talk 1040 and 1080 The Team this morning to break down the game.
We talked about how this was one of the quietest weeks at One Buc Place in recent memory and how the whole atmosphere feels more relaxed, which is a stark contrast to how things were earlier in the season. That’s not to say there is a careless attitude in Tampa Bay, by any means, but there has been talk of Schiano making a conscientious effort to loosen up and it might be working.
We talked about the Bucs’ ailing pass rush and how the team has been unable to apply pressure with their front four, but why facing a team like Miami, with its struggles along the offensive line, will benefit the Bucs.
We talked about how the Bucs secondary will contend with the likes of wide receivers Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline, and on the opposite side of things, how Bucs wide receiver Vincent Jackson handles cornerback Brent Grimes.
We talked about rookie running back Mike James and if his performance against Seattle was a fluke or if he can carry the offense the way Doug Martin did.
We talked about the fact that the Bucs are the only winless football team in the league and if they don’t win now, do they win at all this season? The cards are certainly stacking up in their favor.
We also talked about newly-enshrined Hall of Famer Warren Sapp, who will be inducted into the Buccaneers Ring of Honor tonight, and what his contributions meant to the franchise.
