Jameis Winston Alleged Victim To File Civil Suit

Jameis Winston & Tallahassee Police Department May Face Civil Charges

Jameis Winston waited over a year for the saga of whether or not he would have charges filed against him after being accused of rape by a fellow Florida State University student.

It appeared that the story may be coming to an end in early December when Florida District Attorney Willie Meggs announced,”We’ve carefully examined all the evidence in this case and have concluded that no charges will be filed against anyone in this case.”

Although Winston avoided the more serious criminal charges it appears he will soon have to defend himself in court as his accuser plans on filing a civil lawsuit against him and the Tallahassee Police Department.

The alleged victim’s attorney Patricia Carroll said in an interview with ABC news yesterday, “absolutely you’re gonna see a civil suit, I want heads to roll.” Adding, “You can not have law enforcement that’s not held accountable.”

The accuser tried to remain anonymous but has since been outed and according to Carroll has had to withdraw from the University for fear she was in danger.

Shortly before the Heisman Trophy ceremonies Winston spoke of the saga, “It’s been difficult to stay silent through this process, but I never lost faith in the truth and in who I am, I’m very relieved I’ll be able to continue my education at Florida State and I’m excited I can now get back to helping our team achieve its goals.”

It appears as that Winston will have to defend himself once more before he can put the saga behind him and move on with his life.

“It’s been difficult to stay silent through this process, but I never lost faith in the truth and in who I am,” Winston said, just days before he won the Heisman. “I’m very relieved I’ll be able to continue my education at Florida State and I’m excited I can now get back to helping our team achieve its goals.
