Heisman trophy winner Jameis Winston will split time between the football and baseball teams this weekend. The Florida State football team wraps up spring practice on Thursday and holds their annual spring football game on Saturday. The baseball team will hit the road for a three-game weekend series at Georgia Tech.
Winston’s whirlwind weekend will begin Thursday when he will practice with the football team before flying to Atlanta to join the baseball team. He will be available to play in game one Friday night and then will return to Tallahassee in time for Saturday’s spring football game. After the spring game Winston will again fly to Atlanta where he will be available to play in the baseball game on Sunday.
Winston is a closer and outfielder for the FSU baseball team. He has made eleven appearances on the mound recording 4 saves. He has a 1.76 ERA in 15 and 1/3 innings pitched while holding batters to a .161 average. At the plate Winston is batting only .138 (4-29), the lowest average on the team for a player with more than 10 plate appearances.
