Jaguars Hire Gus Bradley As Head Coach

Thats the word from ESPNs Adam Schefter and FOXs Jay Glazer, who reported on Thursday morning that Bradley had accepted the Jaguars head-coaching position.

Bradley, a defensive coordinator who spent the last four years on the Seahawks staff, became a hot coaching candidate after Seattles defense went on a dominant run down the stretch in the regular season.

Bradley was believed to be the Eagles choice if they hadnt been able to convince Chip Kelly to leave Oregon.

Gus Bradley named head coach of Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars have hired Gus Bradley to become the fifth head coach in franchise history. Bradley, 46, has 23 years of coaching experience including seven seasons in the NFL. For the past four seasons Bradley has been the defensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks, playing an instrumental role in the teams two playoff appearances.

It was just a matter of time before Gus Bradley became a head coach in the NFL, Jaguars General Manager Dave Caldwell said, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are extremely fortunate that Gus will be on our sidelines for many years to come. Gus more than met every criteria we insisted on from our new head coach, and his intangibles and leadership abilities are exceptional. Gus is who the Jaguars need now and in the future.

I am very proud to accept the offer to be the next head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Bradley said. Shad Khan and Dave Caldwell expect to win, and thats what I wanted to hear. Thats why I am coming to Jacksonville to win a Super Bowl. I cant wait to meet everyone in Jacksonville on Friday and get this going.
