Jaguars Get Day 2 Started With Cyrpien
Day 2 of the 2013 NFL draft is off and running, and the Jacksonville Jaguars have resisted the temptation to trade down — and the temptation to draft a quarterback.
Instead, the Jaguars have used the 33rd pick in the draft to select Florida International safety Johnathan Cyprien.
Because he didn’t play for a major football power, most fans hadn’t heard about Cyprien until he had a great week at the Senior Bowl and began to get notice as a big-time prospect. There was plenty of talk that Cyprien would go in the first round on Thursday, but when he was still on the board to star the second, the Jaguars pounced.
