Jaguars Cut Uche Nwaneri, Free Up Cap Space
The Jacksonville Jaguars have just cut offensive guard Uche Nwaneri, per NFL agent Jordan Woy. Nwaneri had two years left on his contract.
He will become an unrestricted free agent. He played all 16 games last year, even though he had to deal with knee problems.
Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk reports that he was scheduled to make $3.775 million this year, plus a $1 million roster bonus, so the Jaguars are saving some cap room with the move.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network says he is now added to the guard market, which includes Geoff Schwartz up top, Jon Asamoah & Rodger Saffold.
