Jags’ LaRoy Reynolds Will Not Give Up

Jaguars_LeRoy_Reynolds_2013It came as no surprise to those around the Jaguars Friday – and then again Sunday – when rookie linebacker LaRoy Reynolds made the 53-man roster.

Reynolds, who was undrafted out of Virginia, was a standout the entire off-season and played well in the preseason games. He started for OLB Russell Allen (ankle) against the Jets and for MLB Paul Posluszny (rest) against Atlanta.

Reynolds said linebackers coach Mark Duffner called him with the good news.

“He called to say, ‘Congratulations,’ and just let me know about everything and how I had made the team,” Reynolds said.

The Jaguars’ fourth linebacker behind Posluszny, Allen and Geno Hayes, Reynolds should be active against Kansas City and play special teams. But there wasn’t time for celebrating even though the Jaguars had a three-day weekend.
