The NFL holds its annual Play 60 Youth Football Festival each year in New York City during NFL draft week. Select members of each year's rookie draft class are invited to participate and play flag football with children from the area. Bortles was one of the 30 players from this year's 2014 NFL draft class who participated in the NFL's grass-roots movement to encourage children to get a least 60 minutes of play per day. Other notable players who were also in attendance for this event included Jadeveon Clowney (Texans), Johnny Manziel (Browns), Mike Evans (Bucs), and Teddy Bridgewater (Vikings).
