Insider: UCF Comes Up Empty in Loss to Missouri
Despite controlling most of the game,sacking MissouriQuarterback James Franklin fivetimes and having a huge advantage in total yards and time of possession in the first half, UCF struggled in the 2nd half and lost to Missouri 21-16 in front of 35, 835 at Bright House Networks Stadium.
Miscues on defense and special teams unraveledfor the Knights who sputtered on offense down the stretch in their bid to defeat their first Southeastern Conference opponent at home.
The Tiger's Marcus Murphy returned a punt 66 yards for a touchdown inthe second half that gave Missouri the lead they would not lose again. Franklin was efficient, going 19 for 30 for 257 yards.
Kendial Lawrence added 104 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Tigers. It is another frustrating loss for Knight fans who been on this road before against schools from a BCS Conference.
