Mary Stevens‘ Insider Notes:
UCF lost 10 players over the summer in the draft or because of graduating seniors.
UCF’s roster consists of 10 seniors, five juniors, 10 sophomores and seven freshmen.
Going into next season, the Knights will have to fill about every position except third base and catcher.
Rooney will look to Chris Taladay (3B) and Ryan Breen (C) for leadership since they are the only two seniors who have started just about every game since their freshmen year.
Over the off-season UCF lost the backend of their bullpen who consisted of Joe Rogers and Roman Madrid.
Erik Hempe and Chris Matulis are coming back as RS seniors.
