It’s extremely early in the process, but the results of the first week of all star voting was released by the National Hockey League today, and it is not exactly great news for the Tampa Bay Lightning players under consideration to represent the team in Ottawa for All Star Weekend this year.
Steven Stamkos, the only Lightning player listed by the league from the Lightning, is currently 22nd among forwards in votes with 47, 488 votes.
Neither Marty St. Louis or Vincent Lecavalier made the list.
The top five in votes included a trio from the Ottawa Senators with Daniel Alfredsson leading the way. Phil Kessel of the Toronto Maple Leafs is second. Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek, both of the Senators, were third and fourth respectively, and Claude Giroux of the Philadelphia Flyers rounded out the top five.
