Insider: New York tops Orlando, 114-106
The Orlando Magic came up short for the eighth consecutive game.
Orlando was up by 12 points at one point, but the Knicks' experienced players managed to dig themselves out of the whole.
Before the game Jacque Vaughn said one of the keys to the Saturday night's game was not turning the ball over. At the end of the night Orlando had 14 turnovers, which translated into 23 points for the Knicks.
Another challenge the Magic faced throughout the night was Carmelo Anthony. He put up 40 of the Knicks' 114 points.
After the game Magic's head coach Jacque Vaughn said, "[Carmelo Anthony] is just an extremely good basketball player. At the end of the day that is what it boils down to, his ability to create his own shots. He's just really good and he made shots and that that is why he's an all-star."
Jameer Nelson and Arron Afflalo both scored 29 points each. While Nik Vucevic and Andrew Nicholson had 11 points a piece. Vucevic also led the team with 18 rebounds. The young center is one of only 11 NBA players currently averaging a double-double.
Up next the Magic will head out for a four game road trip. They will start out West in Portland, then head to Denver, then L.A. (Clippers) and lastly Washington.
