Insider: Knights Beat Marshall 67-60

Marcus Jordan scored 15 points including a three-pointer with 15 seconds left in the game to hold off a late Marshall run to defeat the Herd 67-60. ”It’s only natural to want the shot with the clock winding down,” said Jordan after the game, who was 0 for 5  on three’s for the game prior to the clincher. ”I’ve been there a couple of times at the end of games having to make clutch plays. That’s what I tried to do and it went in”

UCF needed Jordan clutch shot as they saw Marshall make a late run that cut UCF’s   14 point lead with 3:47 remaining in the game, to 62-60 with 48 seconds left in the contest.  Keith Clanton led UCF with 20 points, while Isaiah Sykes added 15 points ,10 rebounds and 3 steals.

The Knights improve to 18-6 overall on the season  and  7-3 in Conference USA play while Marshall drops to 14-10 overall and 5-5 in CUSA play. Check out below postgame reactions below.

– Michael Jordan was in attendance  with his fiance.

– With the win, UCFis now 1/2 game back of first place in CUSA and sets up a showdowen  at Southern Miss  saturday. The Golden Eagles are coming off an upset loss at UAB.  Here is the top 4 in the C-USA following wednesday results which also included Tulsa losing at Utep and Memphis beating EastCarolina.
