Notre Dame senior wide receiver Michael Floyd gets one more time to impress in his collegiate career Thursday. He will suit up as one of the nation’s top pass catching prospects against Florida State in Orlando at the Champs Sports Bowl.
The 6’3” 224 pound target is considered a first round talent, in the conversation to be the first wide receiver chosen alongside Alshon Jeffery of South Carolina and Justin Blackmon of Oklahoma State. However, he is focused on leaving Fighting Irish fans with one last memorable performance and a bowl victory.
Floyd has had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in South Bend and was MVP in the team’s win last year at the Sun Bowl against Miami.
After deciding to remain in school for one more season last winter, Floyd was issued a citation for drunken driving in March. Still, he bounced back from that and a suspension from Notre Dame to be the consistent playmaker for an inconsistent offense in 2011.
