Its been another great start for Amanda Cromwell's UCF Knights Women Soccer Program who once again has established themselves as a National Title Contender. The Knights currently are ranked 10th in the nation with a 8-2-1 overall record following the 2-0 win over Houston on friday night.
The Knights have played one of the toughest schedules in the country, playing # 1 Florida Stateat home losing a tight 1-0 battle in front of over 1,300 fans at UCF Soccer Complex. The Knightswent to Chestnut Hill at Top 10 ranked Boston College and earned a 2-2 tie in aback andforth match. The Knights have beaten Miami, Georgia, and South Floridawhich highlights marquee. UCF now is inConference play where they are the targets once againas they search for the program's 5th CUSA title since joining the conference in 2005 and will battle with Memphis who is UCF biggest rival in Womens Soccer and is one of the most intense rivalries in the country.
Following the Knights win on friday night, I had a chance to catch up with Cromwell who is in her 14th seasonat UCF and has led the Knights program to the NCAA Tournamentten times during that time including a trip to the elite8 last season.Cromwell recapthe seasonhighlights from the first 11 games of the season as well look ahead to what will be the key in winning one last Conference USA title before moving to the Big East next season.
