Orlando Magic general manager Rob Hennigan and his staff met with Dwight Howard Wednesday in an attempt to get the center to change his mind and commit to the Magic long term.
Per Alex Kennedy of Hoops World, Howard told Hennigan he still wants out of Orlando.
Kennedy, citing a source, says Howard “wouldn’t drop his trade demand.”
Howard also reportedly told Hennigan he’d leave as a free agent after next season if the Magic do not trade him.
There is still no rush to trade Howard. Camp doesn’t start until October and although it may be difficult for fans to swallow, they could keep him until the trade deadline.
That might not be the best course of action, but if the Magic can’t find a deal they like, they may wait it out.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Hennigan told Howard “he’s trying to trade him but finding no acceptable deal.”
