Troy Tulowitzki collected his 1,000th career hit with a seventh-inning single up the middle with one out in the seventh inning against the Mets on Saturday night:
Tulowitzki finished 3-for-4 on the night and would probably be the NL MVP if the season ended today. Including his performance tonight, he is slashing .400/.500/.730 with seven home runs, 25 RBI, and stellar defense at shortstop.
Move aside Mike Trout, Tulo might prove to be the best player in the game if he can finally put together a healthy season in 2014. At the very least, he’s probably the best player in the National League.
