Hunter On Fence Flip: ‘I’d Die On The Field For This’
“This is the postseason,” Hunter told reporters following Sunday’s 6-5 loss to the Boston Red Sox. “I’d die on the field for this. You’re not going to take me off this field.”
Hunter flopped headfirst over the right-field wall while attempting to catch David Ortiz’s dramatic game-tying grand slam in the eighth inning. Hunter went down hard and came out only after his teammates had waved for the Detroit medical staff to come out and help him.
“I was trying my best to just stop that ball from going over the fence,” Hunter said. “I’d sacrifice my body if I have to. I’ve done that my whole career.”
