Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman spoke to the media after a tough 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in which he deflected a puck past Ben Bishop off his foot.
On bad bounce:
“It’s part of the game. It was a really lucky bounce for them.”
“It was a tough game overall, it was a pretty even match up and I thought it could’ve gone either way. If we play like this in Columbus and put our chances away I think we have a good chance of winning.”
On proving yourself against teams like Pittsburgh:
“They’re obviously one of the top teams. If you look at Chicago, and we beat them twice, they won the Stanley Cup last year. We need to find ways to win against those teams… We have a long season ahead, so we need to refocus and get ready for Tuesday.”
“We didn’t give them much. One missed back check and they scored the first one. The second one was a lucky bounce on the power play. I thought we matched them pretty well.”
