Goldson Wins Appeal
As a Buccaneers official has advised PFT (along with several other media outlets), the one-game suspension imposed on Bucs safety Dashon Goldson has been overturned.
Last year, a one-game suspension imposed on Ravens safety Ed Reed also was overturned on appeal. A $50,000 fine nevertheless was levied.
A fine presumably will be issued against Goldson, in addition to the $30,000 fine he absorbed after a Week One illegal hit to Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland.
The suspension arose from a Week Two hit applied to Saints running back Darren Sproles.
Goldson will join the Bucs for Wednesday’s practice, and he’ll play on Sunday. The decision reached by the independent hearing officer is final.
