Golden State Warriors Beat Magic 94-81

Jameer Nelson Magic Warriors [1]The Golden State Warriors had no problem handling the Orlando Magic on New Year’s Eve. The Magic ( 10-21) lost 94-81 to the Warriors (20-13) Tuesday night.

The Magic’s defense struggled all night without their double-double machine Nikola Vucevic. The center sprained his left ankle in the first quarter and did not return for the rest of the game. He sprained the same ankle on Dec. 3 when he tripped over a camera man. In the four games that he was out, the Magic went 0-4 and were out rebounded 213-143. That is a difference of 70 rebounds in just four games.

The Warriors took advantage of the situation and out rebounded the Magic 56-37.

The Magic held Stephen Curry to nine points but allowed David Lee to score a team high of 22 points.

The Magic’s defense struggled all night and their offense did not do any better. The Magic never shot over 40 percent all night and recorded a season low of 15 points in the first quarter.

Arron Afflalo scored a team high of 15 points and Jameer Nelson added 11 points and six assists. Tobias Harris scored only five points but grabbed a team high of nine rebounds. Glen Davis scored 10 points, grabbed three boards and had two assists.
