Giants Tom Coughlin Talks RGIII

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin meet with the media Thursday and discussed the up coming match-up against the Washington Redskins. Coughlin went in depth about what he expects in his second meeting of the season with the Washington Redskins and quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Hes getting better, no question. Hes got the numbers to prove it. Hes done extremely well with the passing game, the play-action passes. What you notice is the effectiveness with the completion percentage and the yardage thats attained. It may not be as many throws, but its more productive.

Coughlin also discussed the Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan and the Skins' offensive game plan.

You always have to anticipate. Theyve always been a gadget team; theyll have something that theyve utilized. Theyve done so in the past. You look at the Pittsburgh game, then the very next week theres RGIII running down the sideline with a ball thrown to him out of the backfield. Reverses off of different looks. Mikes always done that. A couple years ago, they had the tight end formations with a big drag route down the sideline with the tight end that was very, very effective. They will always do that. They have a diversified offense, diversified system now that incorporates various forms of options. Its a very interesting preparation.
